Paper jam epson bx300f printer

I had a paper jam yesterday and now the printer wont print. it seems to be the heads as it goes throught the print motion but i only get a few black faded blodges on the paper on the whole page. Is there anything i could try myself to get this going again ?

Hi I also have this printer which suddenly half way through a document said it did not recognise ink cartridges. I took out the offending cyan shook it and put it back in. That worked fine but now I cannot print the black, it sounds like it is printing, I get no error message but I also get no print. It seems to be a common problem with this printer. I am annoyed as I have only had it a few months but I bought it sold as seen from Tesco display and cant find the receipt. As a student nurse with 3 children who have homework I cannot live without a printer so it looks like I am going to have to but another.:mad:0
