Travel insurance advice: International plus Domestic flights

Hi all. I'm booking a trip to China and I was wondering if you could help. I've booked a return flight to Shanghai (connecting in Doha). My final destination is a city in middle China and so I have another return ticket from a domestic airline from Shanghai to Yichang. Are there any policies that cover such sort of trips (delays of domestic flights connecting to international flights)? My worry is that on return to UK the domestic flight arrives at 7pm and I must check in to the international flight before 10pm so a delay in the domestic flight will give me problems. Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

You would be wise to take up Travel Insurance which has the optional independent travellers option to cover such events.
Suggest that you speak to Travel Insurers to obtain the quotes, so they can tailor the cover to suit your needs. Most will be able to provide the cover you are looking for.
Don't be tempted just to arrange online without speaking to anyone, before you purchase. If you phone companies, then you can ask questions about the cover and hopefully be more reassured with what you are buying. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
All travel insurance policys I have seen cover missed departure on connecting flights. Some will pay for consequential loss and expenses and others do not. I would advise you to choose a good insurer and check the T&Cs carefully before you buy.
