There doesn't seem to be anywhere for homeowners to trade up or down....without an Estate Agent.
I have a very simplistic attitude to life. I can't afford to live in my home.
I'm prepared to trade down for a cash settlement. With all the power of the net I can't see anywhere that caters for this requirement.Plenty if I wanted to swop Council Houses.
Am I overlooking a great resource!!!
I'm in Yorkshire My house is valued at £110,000!!

I've replied on the other thread but the resource is indeed an estate agent; you simply put your house up for sale and offer it as 'part exchange available' and set yourself a limit on the price of the house you want to move to. If you aren't fussy then anybody wanting to buy your house would be more than happy for you to take theirs of their hands for them.
It is not an 'exchange' in the same way as social housing. You have to buy each other's houses with new mortgages, full conveyancing etc but it does have the potential to move smoother than any sale with a chain.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

There used to be couple of websites that catered to this but I can't find some of them. Partexmyhome.com was a site which offered exactly what you are looking for, however, there's been no new properties added to that for over a year now so I presume that it is no longer being maintained. It seemsd as though it was going to be the next big thing about two years ago but clearly it never took off. Probably due to the fact that lots of people just can't get their head around what it entails. So I would agree with Doozer Girl.0
