barclaycard f&f..or rather,lack of.

Morning all! a few months ago i offered barclaycard a full and final settlement, but they said that in no way do they accept full and final settlements,no-one in barclaycard will accept a full and final settlement(because i asked to speak to someone else).

I called up again and was told the same.they will not accept anything,as its not the way they work.
Is this true? Has anyone else offered them f&f's and had it accepted?i found it very strange to be honest and downright awkward of them

  • You should send them the letter offering it to them, with all the prescribed terms, national debtline has the templates.

Also which department of theirs are you being put through too? It might not be their collections dept.
  • They certainly will offer you F&F settlement figures - see my thread here:- https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2306541

As you can see, I got a settlement figure of 30% of the balance.
  • lying ba*tards.i just called the normal customer services (i presume)number.the number is for people who are paying lower than the recommended amount.

That's just one good reason why the golden rule is everything in writing Kezzy. Look on the bright side, at least you found out now why phoning is a bad idea, not after you'd got stung for it in a more expensive way.

I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
