Query about opening a Halifax current account online?

I came across an offer in one of the Sunday newspapers for £150 cash back for opening a rewards current account, So I went through the process, it got to the submit part at the end, I waited for 60 seconds or so then it came up about transferring my current bank account over, then it went onto setup the online side of things but I am none the wiser as to whether or not my account has actually been opened, My credit rating isn't the best which is why I ask if its actually been done. I phoned them up but they couldn't tell me.

No idea. They should be able to tell you tomorrow though.
More importantly tell us which paper or what the code is .... readers of this site want their £150!0 -

But they've included the 12 x £5 Reward payments in the £150.0 -

But they've included the 12 x £5 Reward payments in the £150.As well as the £50.00 cashback on offer Halifax is giving customers an additional £50.00 to switch their current account to the Halifax Reward Current Account.
You best hurry though as the offer expires on the 30th September. This welcome cash injection sounds even better when you consider that you can earn an additional £5.00 per month when you pay in £1,000 to your Halifax Reward Account.0 -

Apparently my account hasn't been opened as yet, its hasn't had a decision as yet, I've just met the criteria so i'm pretty sure it'll get declined, a very confusing process, why exactly send for processing then come up as account opened when its not?0

When opening new accounts, an automated system will look at it first of all, and will give the instant decision of either accept, decline, or refer to an underwriter. It sounds like yours is the third case, so someone at Halifax's underwriting department will look at it manually this week and make a decision.0 -
The NOTW offer may be a better deal as it doesn't mention switching your current account over to get the free cash?

The underwriting process seems a bit of a pointless task to me, I've been referred a few times over the years and never once have I been accepted, it should just be a fail at that rate.0
