hi i would love some advice, i am 27 from liverpool with 2 young children and my fiance has been fighting cancer for 18 months.
i have a bad credit rating and i can't work as i am my partners full time carer as he has no close family, we are really struggling as he spends a lot of time in hospital, as it had spread quite far when diagnosed, his treatment has even gave him 2 heart attacks at the age of 28, he has to stay in hospitals which can be far, which costs us a lot of money with travel e.t.c.
is there anywhere i could get a loan of some help?
i would really appreciate any suggestions, thankyou

thankyou for replying to me, the only help we were offered was transport to take my partner to his treatment, then home when he was finished. he has agressive chemo tho hes had 2 heart attacks off it at 29 and spends weeks at the hosp. i travel there everyday getting 2 trains an 2 buses as we live in merseyside and the only hosp we have is clatterbridge which is over the water. they wont help me with this as they say they don't have to. thanx again tho xx0

Are you getting carers allowance? If not, I think that's something you'd be entitled to. I would also recommend doing a benefits check to see if you're entitled to more than you're currently getting. turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx
I think getting a loan that has interest attached to it would be a last resort because with a poor credit rating, you're not likely to get a very competitive rate. However, if it's your only option, it may be worth talking to your bank. Do you have friends or family who'd be willing to give you a loan interest free?
My sympathy to you and your family at this tough time, anyway. I hope you're able to find something to help you with your finances somehow. The emotional strain of your finance being so ill is more than enough. Best of luck.0 -

Hi
I think its pretty unlikely that you will find an online loan that will accept you, as its likely they won't be able to see how you can afford to repay it.
Do you have a macmillian nurse who helps, advises you at all? Maybe try talking to them for some financial advice or possibly they would be able to help you out financially in some way. http://www.macmillan.org.uk/HowWeCanHelp/FinancialSupport/FinancialSupport.aspx

Do look into what benefits you can get as Hazel has suggested.
What sort of loan figure were you hoping to borrow? and how much could you afford to repay each month? If you are talking fairly small figures and a 1 off loan then possibly a credit union may be able to help, but if you need financial assistance each month then a loan will not really solve your problems.
Did you OH work when he was diagnosed? have you checked to see if he had any critical illness insurance or PPI insurance that would help with yoru finances? Or whether his employer had any package that would help in these circumstances?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I'm so sorry to hear about your husand. Must be awful for you having financial difficulties on top of everything else. You haven't said what enefits you're on (if any) but you could try the CAB for advice and help with benefits.
Does your husband get DLA? If at higher rates you may be entitled to income support or carers allowance.
If you desperately need a loan, try the DWP first. You need to be on qualifying benefits for certain loans and grants, but anyone can apply for a crisis loan (link)
