Hello
need some advice pls as im just sitting here worrying about it. I had an accident on the 22 august, it was my fault (went into the back of my friend) and i was asked by my insurance company who i was third party with to send a copy of my driving licence to them, i did this and then on the 01/09 when i was in America i was sent a text by them saying they hadnt received this, so when i got back on the 9th i sent it straight away by email
Ive now got a letter today saying that because i havent sent it sooner they are unable to deal with this and will be looking to reimburse any third party costs with me later
does this mean they have now washed their hands off all the insurance and i will have to pay for everything?? Im so worried and i cant speak to anyone from there untill monday

Sounds like ecarinsurance or other such company that offers such an unprofessional service.
Suggest that on Monday, that you submit a formal complaint to them and arrange to send a copy of your licence by recorded delivery. If you have a look on the companies internet site, you should find details of their complaint process. Follow it.
Then as long as you have complied with the policy t&c's and have not given any wrong information, they should get on and deal with the claim. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
What is it with people and complaining? Just give them a ring on monday and ask what's going on. I wouldn't worry about anything until then.0

I would have thought that if you sent an email with your licence attached and you can show it as being sent on that day you have a good case for them to follow your case, would be interested to know the outcome Don't worry it does happen from time to time and even Insurance companies make mistakes to get out of paying when they should ;-)If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0 -

first time i sent the copies by letter, not recorded though, really wish i had done now, but ive still got the email in my sent items and it shows the date on that so can still use it if they really refuse to pay
I hope so though as theres no way on earth i could afford to pay for everything, thanks everyone im not as worried as I was last night now!0 -

just for an update...
rang them and they said that there is no time limit that you have to send your licence in, they werent rejecting the claim and it was just a standard letter which they send to everyone to make sure they do send the licence in and they have lots of calls about it because its badly worded.. his words!
he also checked with the other dept and they had both copies of my drivers licence and they were waiting to be validated.. the whole company is a joke!
thanks to everyone that helped though!0
