My kitchen and bathroom fitter will be 'living in' while he is doing his bits, so them staying there really isn't an option. He's travelling a long way as a favour, and it's part of the deal.

I do feel bad for them though, especially as they have had as much trouble with the managing agents as we have. But the work needs doing, and the agent as got to go. So I really do think it has to be done.

I'll be over there in the next fortnight, so I will drop a note in then, and then I'll have a better idea of how they are going to react.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

I showed a property, telling the prospective tenant that it was being redecorated and would be available in a few weeks. She said she would move in straight away if she could choose the colour scheme. So she moved in couldn't decide what colour and decided on magnolia throughout! SHe put up with decoraters with 2 babies in the house!

If it happens, it happens, that's one of the risks with lettings. It'll be a chance for the management agency to earn their fee anyway.

But I am hoping the better we treat them, the less likely they are to screw us over. Which is why I'm trying to do it this way.
