Please note prices are per person per night (minimum of two sharing), some hotels may have a minimum number of nights required. To check the listings and for further details please click here. You only need two differently numbered tokens per hotel booking. If you wish to book further hotels, you will need to collect two more tokens per booking. Rooms are available between 12 September and the end of December 2010 although some hotels are offering early 2011 rooms as well - giving you even more choice!

  • Am really not impressed by this offer at all, never buy the newspaper but made a special effort last week and this week, so at 9am today was online going through the lists of hotels. The £5 offer is a joke. It is actually £5 per person, minimum 2 people, so £10 per night. Ok still fairly good even for the university halls likeness of the etap (clean, basic but the shower cubicle is in the room, the toilet is in a cupboard and the sink is in the room also for those of you who have never stayed in one before). However, once the exclusions came up I thought there had to be a mistake, the code cannot be used Monday - Saturday. Or in September. And only at a handful of the etap hotels (I was looking at Cardiff, I phoned up for more information as I wanted to see if the exclusions were actually correct but they knew nothing of the offer, and as they spoke limited English it took me about 10 minutes to explain the situation). So pretty rubbish in all honestly, especially when the travelodge site has a £9 sale on. I also looked at the Ramada in Brighton but that excluded weekends, no problem can do half term, looked at reviews NOT good!! So would love to hear if anyone has managed to find anything for a) the dates they want b) for a hotel with decent reviews.
  • Oh and can I just add the NOTW says that there are 3 price brackets, £5, £10 & £20. Oh so the one I've just seen for £25 must have slipped through the net then?!

Hmm, I have searched for a few different ones and it doesn't seem much of a bargain. It may be if only one or two people are going but not for a family of four :(

The real downside to this offer is that you have to share your hotel with people who read the News of The World. Lets face it, you are not likely to be able to engage your fellow guests in intelligent conversation :-)
  • 35 pound one! although room on sun night has upgrade, should be 160 pounds. (bet its not available!!)
  •:doh::doh::wall::wall::wall:Wanted a cheap break to see the lights at blackpool, well check out the website and trip adviser first thats all I can say. They would have to pay me to stay in some of them. And as for £5pppn more like £60 for a family of four. What a con :mad::mad::mad: They seem to be the hotels no-one would want to stay in.
    I'm gutted.........
  • Likewise I bought the paper last week luckily I checked online today before buying todays paper didn't bother. We looked at trying half term Ramada Jarvis swansea as stayed there before and they had a leisure pool so son could have a swim. Checked before they released the promo early this morning tried 3 night at weekend it quoted £199 then aroung 8.30 logged on again and offer had obviously gone live as it now quoted £80 for 2 nights at promo rate for 2 adults and 1 child but couldn't get rate on 3 nights. But I remember getting better deals with Ramada previously with breakfast included. So felt the deal was too limiting and not cheap enough to make it a bargain. We had a fantastic deal in May with Superbreaks We paid £108.00 for 3 nights at Holiday Inn Stoke 2 adults 2 children and full english breakfast which was absolutely fantastic the mushrooms were to die for (not good if on diet though) the room was great also.

I have contacted 6 hotels where i will be working over the next month or so and guess what non are very happy with News of the World. Wrong details, wrong prices and 1 hotel stated" Dont know how N.O.W. got our details, and certainly wouldn't entertain N.O.W.readers" Back to best Western.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
