Time to renew the above. Just would like to know what members think of adding extended accidental damage to building, we are not DIY fans, wonder whether this is necessary also the legal protection? We are not likely to put a claim unless it is something big. Thanks

I would always take the AD cover on Buildings, as usually it does not cost much extra. It is not just about DIY mishaps. But it depends on the excess level and what you can afford to pay for Insurance.
In regard to Legal Expenses, again depends on what you can afford. Often the cover is fairly restrictive and is limited to in-house legal help, rather than paying a solicitor of your choice. They will only take on cases they can win. But having said that, I have read of cases, where people have received major help with legal battles that have been covered. I suppose you have to read what the policy covers and decide whether you want to pay for it, on the off-chance you might need it.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
