Yippee, the keys are waiting for us!

Options
For anyone wanting a quick house purchase, beware. We've completed today (and I can't get the time off work ). There was no chain involved on either side and I'd say that we were quite speedy in getting everything done on the buying side. Even so, it took four months and two days, which was two months longer than expected.

Thank you everyone for making this forum so helpful and best wishes to all of you still in the process.

  • Well done to you.
    Good luck unpacking!!!
  • View to complete - 11 weeks here!! And I had everything in place. Could have been 2 weeks less if the vendor could make up their mind.

    I get the keys Friday.

11 weeks still seemed like ages.. my boss completed (a few months ago) and it took them 18 months.. I think I would have gone crazy in that time.

Yes it must be unusual. And a bit naughty of me to post that pompous comment with no explanation :o

I was able to vacate my house and leave it on the market. And the seller had already vacated and moved to Dorset. So we were not, effectively, in a chain. Still, the seller was a right PITA and threatened to put the house on the market unless we got a move-on :rotfl: Seriously!

Anyway, that was three years ago. Now we're building an extension and effectively remodelling the whole house & garden!!! We must be mad
