FAO MR Weetabix Cruise Deal Readers - Its your choice

For the past 10 days i have spent time giving deals from

Jetline Cruises
ROyal Caribbean
Cruise/Victoria Travel
Cruise Direct
Cruise First
Cruise 118
and many more.

I have had very good feedback off some members but some people (mainly MSE expert savers) seem to think

I am a travel agent who works for all the abive companies
I own all the above websites
I have put fraudulent phone numbers on here

I know some of you have appreciated my help/advice/tips as well as deals but I have had enough.

With these "experts" sniping away I am never going to build a following to help people with cruising and frankly I don't want to waste my time.

Its been a pleasure for the people I have helped and I hope you all enjoy your future cruises.

That's a bit of a toys out of the pram reaction.
You need much thicker skin if you want to play on the web.

Most peope just contibute to forums and don't care what others think about them or sit counting the thanks.

Encouraging PM's is extremely time consuming and actualy defeats the prupose of an open forum which is to share information as wide as possible. Also saves answeringt e same questions multple times.

You are speculating wildly over what people seem to think. The "MSE expert savers" as you call them are the ones who have been here long enough to recognise when something isn't quite what it seems.

Sorry to hear that and I for one would welcome deals although I tend to use the same Travel Agent who will match any other deal she can with sometimes the odd exceptional deal that can be found.
3 years ago I got a deal for the Queen Mary 2. £699 for 12 night T/A round trip 12 nights. I was looking for single occupancy and got it for £1002. Never seen anythings since at this low price.

I remember that, there there was a B2B round trip southapton with 3n in NY one July 4th at around £800 those were real bargains, away from the run of the mill pricing that most of these "deals" have been.

I think this is the wrong way to handle these situations it comes across at needy and attention seeking as did some other posts. This is not the ay to operate on oprn forums on the web.

A few points

Starting a thread that give the apprearense of ownership(and official to start with)

Encouraing PM rather than open discussion on the threads

Focusing on a narrow selection of agents, then not updating that site you pointed at with others when given a list in one of the threads.

Posting normalish prices rather than those that were realy special deals.

This is not a site where you typicaly seek "to build a following".

The one thing that this holiday section of MSE could do with is a guide to finding good prices for cruises, this could be totaly travel agent free or point at one of the generic lists like that on the PSA site.

If you genuinely want to help people find a bargain you need to stop acting as if you are attention seeking.

Just post your findings and leave it at that, then folks will hit the "Thanks" button and everyone is happy. Some members enjoy winding other up and that will happen on every site, not just this one.
