Trade in Market.
I'm looking at a new car which I'm looking to finance through the dealership. I'd like to hope my current car may meet the up front deposit.
Acknowledging there are a lot of variables, whats the general feeling of what the trade in market is like? Is the dealers need to meet targets 'inflating' figures or is it a hassle they don't need?

Nissan dealerships are currently offering a promotion of £2000 for your old car when you buy cetain new models no matter what the value of the old one.
More usually with dealers, the trade in is a gimmick that makes you feel better and helps then clinch the sale.
You are almost always better off buying from somewhere like Cargiant and Ebaying or Autotrading your old car - making quite sure you fufil all DVLA rules on de-registering the old car from yourself.0 -
The word I am hearing is that new sales have held up better than expected but that used sales are really in the doldrums.0
