Integral Garage - Fire Regs and Insurance

I have an integral garage with a Fire Door fitted.
I have recently put a cat flap into the door (which leads into my hallway). I did call the insurance company a couple of months ago and asked if they would object and they said no.
I do not use the garage to put a car in and there is nothing in the garage that you wouldn't find in the house (ie no petrol).
My house was built in 1997.
I know that I may contravene the building regs but I'm more worried about my house insurance. I was happy but a friend has since made me nervous about what I have done.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You have had it from the Horses mouth so to speak. I would be tempted to write to your insurers and ask them to formally write to you confirming that the catflap isn't going to be a problem. Then if there is any comeback, you can wave the letter under their nose.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Maybe, but if a fire claim does arise relating to the garage/main house and a loss adjuster gets involved, then you can be sure that this will become an issue.
The insurer has no remit to agree or disgaree altering a fire door, whatever they may say in a phone call or letter.
They would presume that you will fit a cat flap which maintains the integrety of a fire door, and so you need to google for, and fit an " intumescent cat flap " which will seal itself in a fire situation.
Any normal cat flap will not be acceptable in a fire door0
