Pesky Cats!
I need some advice on discouraging cats in my garden - I know its a problem for lots of people and its hard to keep cats under control.
I have new neighbours next door (they don't appear in daylight & keep all their curtains tight shut )so I've never seen them - they didn't answer their door when I went in to say hello after they arrived either. They have 2 enormous moggies which have decided to use our garden as a toilet (usually pretty much in the same couple of places so they have clearly marked parts of my garden as 'theirs'. Part of the trouble is that next doors garden is beginning to look like something out of Sleeping beauties enchanted castle and has no bare soil anywhere.
I've heard of Pepper Dust - is this something special or just ordinary pepper ?

I swear by Citronella oil, keeps the cats out of my garden. They even tried using the trampoline poles as scratching posts so I sprinkled the oil all over the poles and around the base, not had any bother since.
Try putting some oil on teabags and scattering them around, that should do the trick.2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

We've been troubled by our neighbours cat pooping on our lawn, but my mum said to try chopping fresh garlic and scattering it around as they don't like the smell, so I did it this week and have not had any poop on the lawn since....yippee!0

Thanks - I've put down some Citronella Gel (left over from when I used a burner to deter wasps) fo now- it still smells pretty strong. QWhere do you reckon I can buy citronella oil pleae? (don't recall seeing it anywhere - but then, I haven't been looking for it!)ELITE 5:2

if the citronella fails those high pitch noise things they sell at robert dyas definatley work! I have 2 cats, a year ago i had a huge gaeden that backed onto woodland my cats loved it and were proper little hunters always bringing back mice, birds and other creatures (to my utter dismay)then i moved to a small garden only to realise next door has chickens, a large fully stocked fish pond and bird feeding tables at every available space! I expected the worst but my cats never ventured into their garden untill one day about 6 months into the move so i went to my neighbour to get my cat out and he told me the batteries needed replaceing on these things, which he did within the week and my cats just dont go into his garden, great no more nasty surprises and chucks, fish and bird tables are safe!I LOVE BETTY CROCKER0

The noise thing sounds good - but I don't know quite what they are (and no Dyas down here unfortunately.)
Earlier this year it was darn rabbits - but they vanished the very day I set up a couple of rabbit traps and I haven't seen them since.ELITE 5:2

You can borrow my greyhound-x if you like.
They don't come back twice
Supersoaker in lieu of th efact you aren't allowed to shoot them.
Post the cat doings back to the neighbours via royal mail?
I used to be quite relaxed about it but now i have a toddler i'm fairly intolerant of them.0
