Electric fault any ideas

    Bad earth?

    Sounds like one of these nightmare problems.

    Second for a bad earth or loose connection from the battery. I'd be starting by taking the leads off the battery and giving them and the terminals a good clean with sandpaper, refitting and smearing in grease. Next port of call is the other end of those leads.

    Does it happen in the ignition position OR when he tries to turn the engine over?

    If the later it could be a dodgy starter motor.
