  • It does seem somewhat lax! Considering when I had loads of trouble transferring my ISAs into Nationwide when I rang and eventually got to speak to someone they would not let me go any further because I didnt know exactly how much money I had in my flex account. The staff at the branch said they wouldnt know the answer to this either! I do think personally you should raise it as a complaint, but others my say not. I must admit perhaps my judgement with Nationwide is a bit clouded as had terrible trouble when trying to transfer my ISAs and further trouble with them correcting incorrect account details for my interest.

    Hi,

Wonder if anyone has had the same problem when a bond matures and you want to move the money you cant seem to do this from an agency even with photo ID even though I have done this before as long as you have your letter stating the bond has matured

. So i rung the helpline and have been told I need to wait 10 days to have certificates sent to me! On the phone I had no security checks to get the certificates reissued or raise this as a complaint. I believe this probably is a very bad breach of protocol as I could have been someone who has moved into the house and found a letter with a bank number on and rung up. They didnt even ask me my name date of birth just gave them account numbers. Does anyone else think this should be raised as a complaint as I believe this is a security breach?

I can't really understand what you are saying as it is a bit garbled. But it sounds like you are not out of pocket, just surprised at their lack of security checks.

If you are not out of pocket or even inconvenienced, I would raise it as feedback rather than a 'complaint'. A complaint when you haven't actually been affected negatively makes it sound like you are just trying it on.

But if someone else had just moved into the house, then you would have moved out of it (presumably?).

So you would have changed your address with Nationwide, and the certificates would be sent to your new address.

How are you expecting the fraudster would get hold of the certificates?
