Strange Internet problem

I am experiencing a few problems today, I am currently using my company PC which picks up a network connection from our wireless router and I presume an internet connection which I then use to get a VPN connection into the servers at HQ, all internet comes from this VPN.I also have my own laptop connected to the same access point but I can't connect to the internet or receive my personal email using Outlook. I have tried pinging the IP of the DNS server and it says I am losing 100% of my packets.I have just borrowed DH's laptop (which is set up in the same way as mine to the same network(s) etc) and it works fine so I am stumped.I have tried the main network and the auxillary ( access point) both have a strong signal but no access to the web.....Any techies got any ideas please?

Can you ping you local gateway? Do an ipconfig /release then an ipconfig /renew.
Also, seeing that you are using your HQ's VPN connection for internet access, they might of blocked outbound internet traffic for remote hosts on the Firewall.0 -

Hi thanks for the response, it's just fixed itself somehow???
I would still like to know what the issue was because all I have done is keep trying to get on line and eventually it let me, one of the mysteries of the universe LOL.
I was not having a problem with my work computer but my own, that shouldn't have been affected by any settings on the VPN or the company network.
I mentioned that the other laptop was working fine to show that the router and internet connection were working, my status was showing I had a good connection to the network.0
