Mushroom Identification
Can anyone help.
My raised bed is covered in mushrooms. They smell lovely, very "mushroomy"- but are they poisonous. There are so many it would be a waste if they are edible.
They start off with round caps, becoming flatter and slightly funnel shaped as they grow. The are generally creamy coloured with white/cream gills, although some of the larger ones are white/beige. The stems are the same colour and seem smooth. They are growing on compost- a mix of cheap B and Q stuff, the contents of our compost bin and some shredded paper.
I have taken some pics but am not sure how to add them at the moment. I will try and add these if anyone knows where to start.
Thanks

The gill colour is a bit worrying - I picked some wild mushrooms the other day from a place I'd seen people picking them before. Just to be sure I searched the web and confirmed they were field mushrooms - gills start pinky and darken to a chocolatey colour. The site I used said to avoid any with grey/white gills.
I ate the ones I picked and am fine - so I'm off to get some more soon :j
Your compost may the culprit - I've had mushrooms growing where I've put down bagged compost.
This is the site I used

Hope this helps
