Driving is your cheapest option unless your vehicle is a gas guzzler. Though Megabus is competive at £174 for 3 people, Flybe is £157 per person, by train its £312 for 3 people (though split ticketing may reduce the price).0

Family details (1 adult/2 kids, 2 adults/1 kid)?
Dates for travelling?

Oldham?

Its not too bad by car, seems longer on paper than it actually is. Mind you its a bit of a hike if your only staying one night. The motorway and really all the way to the A9 is fine, once you hit the A9 its pot luck in terms of time you hit it I find.
If you have the option to travel overnight, or leave so you hit the A9 late in the day, that would take a bit of time off your journey. We travelled every year to Morecambe with caravan and usually took 7 hours with a few stops.0 -

From the Train and Coach Deals article...Get 25% off a 1 year Family and Friends Railcard. To get the discount, enter code PIZZA25 in the promotion code box, which will bring the price down from £26 to £19.50.0 -
