Windscreen repair/replacement (in Swindon?)
I have TWO stone chips in my windscreen. Not sure how bad they are, but they look bad enough. It appears chipped from the outside, but just below it you can see that it is cracked slightly.
Can anyone tell me how much I'm roughly looking at to get two stone chips done? Or am I just better off with a full replacement? If so, how much is this going to cost?!

Oh, and also, the stone chips are close together (about 3-4cm apart), and from looking on Autoglass, I can't do them unless they're 100mm (10cm) apart...
Oh, before any says it, I can't claim on insurance, as I'm not fully comp.0 -
A bit naughty... but will work...
Find out from your insurance company how much extra it would be to go fully comp until the end of your policy. Up it... if it is not a massive cost... then wait a couple of weeks.
Then make a glass claim (which doesn't effect the NCD)0 -
I did think about this, but I think it's about £600 to upgrade
(I'm a young driver, and new driver too!)

All the repairs i have seen have been really noticable (small sample) Have a ring round, don't forget to mention it will be a cash job. we just got a screen for our van (bloody huge bit of glass) and it cost £140.0

I've had a quote of £47 from Autoglass. Best deal I'm going to get? That's to fix both of the chips.0

Hello Pulse
I'll move your thread over to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board, where it should get more views and responses.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

I used Glass Weld in Swindon to fix 2 windscreen chips/cracks, one was complex and took over an hour. The job was perfect, the cost was a fair bit less than your autoglass quote!0

I would have these chips done asap if i were you, i left one on my car and it cracked right across,a common occurance i was told by the man who then fitted me a new screen!! I had a chip repaired on another car by Autoglass, you could see the repair slightly but a man on a galloping horse would never notice lol!!
For people who have FULLY COMP insurance it can be done free on your policy, the insurance company would rather pay for this than for their part of your claim for a new screen.
