London attractions on a Monday?

Options
Hi,

I'm considering bringing my DD to London on her next in-service day from school, which is Monday 6th December. Are the museums, London eye etc all open as usual on a Monday?

We'll be arriving into St Pancras on the Sunday afternoon, and staying at a travelodge (was thinking Euston as its close to the station, yes?). Any other suggestions for location, as we want to do the touristy stuff all day Monday then get back home from St Pancras on Monday evening.

Thanks,

Southwark or Waterloo Travelodges are the best for the Eye as 10 minutes approx walking distance. Southwark is 2 mins walk from the tube. Also newish TLs. Not that near for the Museums at South Kensington though as about 25 mins on tube. Fulham is nearer these and only opened last year, so should be one of the newer TLs.

The Museums and attractions will be open on the Monday.

The TLs are not cheap for your date, although a Sunday is usually cheaper. Premier Inn are cheaper and you can get Kensington for £59 for the night you want. As your time is so short you probably would not want to stay outside London but you can get somewhere like Harrow Premier Inn for £29. This is opposite the tube station (Kenton), but would take say 40 minutes on the tube direct from there to Waterloo.

i've decided to stay in central london yh and although initially i turned my nose up at it i looked on line and it seems like a really nice place to stay with travellers so there'll be plenty of ppl to chat too and its in bolsover street so close to all the action.

we're doing a whole day with the london dungeon then borough market, the london eye and then the thames rib tour - the landing stage is just across to the eye and involves a speedboat up to the thames barrier & back - lasts about 80 mins. inbetween each thing we'll stop for a coffee & a bite to eat & a bit of shopping.

check lastminute.com http://www.discount-london.com/ they've got the london eye tickets for £20

there's also winterwonderland in hyde park with ice skating & other stuff
