How to max my speed.

I saw the TV ad called Maxmyspeed.com and it looked like it would solve a lot of problems. So then I did a little research on it.

It seems that there are 2 strong camps:

The guys who think it is a fake
And the customers who love it

It seems fairly divided. The people talking about how it is fake and rogue, but they never give any details.

The people who love it, say that it is easy to use, site a lot of details, and that it did what it was supposed to do.

It is made by Cyberdefender, which is a NASDAQ (CYDE) company, so at least they are not a rogue software maker or some fly by night company. All though there seems to be some criticism for them selling/advertising under the maxmyspeed.com site.

Does maxmyspeed really find malware in the registry?

Will deleting a virus in the registry speed my computer up?

  • Its just advertising rubbish. I'm a system admin/tech with lots of experience by the way.

All of the things it claims to do can be done by other free software. There is no magic product that can suddenly fix all windows errors, stop all viruses and spyware etc.

Whilst this product might correct a few unseen errors its hardly likely you will see any difference in the speed of your PC.

Just use free stuff like Zonealarm, AVG, spybot, adaware, spyware blaster and you will get the same effect.

CCleaner is probably just as good and free for general tidy .
I have just tested the program and it found nearly 6 thousand errors .
Running my old Registry Organiser produces almost the same number of errors ( $39.95 ).
So it probably is not a fake but its a one trick pony .
All it does is clean out old unwanted items from the registry this will not be much help to a slow PC . Plus my experience of major registry cleans often leads to a failure to boot windows .

Best speed up is deleted unwanted data move large folders off the desktop have only needed items run at start up run CCleaner defrag C drive and run up-to-date AV .
Only real speed up is to wipe the drive and start all over installing everything again

Might be worth a look at some user responses.

And did you see anywhere on the website that the program costs $40 to use, after the 'free download'?

I hope your experience updates soon, and realises that at least 3 of those are not considered up to scratch in this day and age.

Again, why do I get nervous when someone proclaims themselves to be an expert?
    Move along, nothing to see.
