I am looking for a city break flying out 31st december or late on the 30th and returning on 2nd jan for 2 people.
I don't care where it is as long as its not in the uk but it needs to be relatively cheap.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Anywhere for new years eve will not be cheap, they just dont go in the same sentence, you may get prague or amsterdam for a reasonable price, have a look where ryanair fly too that will be your best bet.0

We went to Amsterdam last year for 185 pp for 3 nights 4* hotel, I thought that was quite cheap, we booked that with Lastminute although we did book it later in the year than this ( december) The fireworks in dam square were great and it was lovely and snowy with loads of twinkling lights
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I don't want to pay any more than £200 per person.0

We have been going away for New year for the last 20 years and have been to many places. Short haul destinations include Amsterdam Rome and Barcelona. We also had a great time in Edinburgh and drove via the tunnel to Bruges. Paris would also be an option.
I would think that Bruges is likely to be the cheapest as you can get there via Eurotunnel if you are prepared to drive its only about an hour from Calais. There are market stalls and an ice skating rink in the center and food can be as cheap or dear as you like same as hotels.
Barcelona is quite economical but if you are paying over £100 for your flights that does not leave much. so you may need to consider somewhere like edinburgh or London where there is plenty going on but no high travel costs0
