Hi,
Anyone know the rough cost of having a gas pipe laid for my new fire? And what can I expect to have to pay to have it fitted?
I would just like a rough idea so I know when im quoted later on today if its a reasonable quote or not.
Thanks, Helen x

I need the same thing doing for our new gas cooker, so I'd be interested in an answer to this question too.0

It will depend on the diameter needed, the route for it, the length of pipe needed and who fits it.
The one thing i know from experience is that if you use British Gas its likely to be 100% more expensive than a local Corgi registered engineer.
On the other hand, its worth getting them to quote for the work so you have a benchmark for the cost.0 -
When you say gas pipe laid, do you mean having a gas supply installed or just the pipe to be extended from the supply to the site of your gas fire?
If it's the pipe extension, I think you'd need to give an idea of at least the length of pipe run for people to have much of an idea.
About 3 years ago I needed a gas pipe run from my gas meter to my living room, to enable me to have a living flame gas fire & it cost me around £250 for the supply & fitting of gas pipes & the fitting of the fire. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
