Does the clutch need replacing?

Does the engine rev up high? If so, its the clutch. If not, its probably the lack of servicing.0

Thanks Hammyman, it does rev up, gives me an idea before I go to the garage so thank you! vtmil0

If the engine is revving nicely, but just isn't transmitting power, then it's almost certainly a worn clutch.
However, if the engine is simply lacking power and won't rev, then it's certainly not the clutch.

Drive it at say 30mph on a flat road in top gear. Floor the accelarator. If the revs rise rapidly but the speed doesn't it's the clutch, if it all just bogs down it's not.
Only do this once or you may not get home
;)
I would have thought if it's slipping to that extent that you would have smelt it??I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
