Should one wait for a higher rival bid to be accepted on sale before offering higher?

  • Only you can answer this question. We are in the time of the year when transaction activity picks up after the Summer hols (coupled with the election and World cup this year) so the market is very busy in some parts of the country.

    How far are you away from the asking? "Cheeky" offers may not carry much water.

    You could suggest to the EA that you might want to go to sealed bids, to put an end to the agony if nowt else

    I reckon you have been had.

    If this isnt the dream house that you "must" have I would withdraw before the mortgage valuation is actually done so you havent wasted the val fee.

  • We were also told of a "cash buyer" when we placed an offer on our house.

    I have to say, that it is very easy to give advice saying it is a con and walk away but as catloverbex said, it may well not be a con and if you want the house then walking away is difficult.
