laptop connected to internet can't open browser

hi, my daughters laptop picked up a virus, she has cleaned it and we believe it is now virus free, it's conected to the internet and she can use msn but can't open a web browser, i'm not computer savvy and would be gratefull for any help, thanks

Can't open the browser, or can't get on the web?
Check there is no web proxy set in internet explorer, tools, internet options, connections, lan settings.
Scan with malwarebytes after updating signatures.!!

thanks for the reply, i've open up the LAN settings, there are 2 boxes under proxy server and they are both ticked, the laptop is connected to the internet but i can,t connect to firefox, IE or safari0

Untick the Proxy Servers and set to automatic.0
