Switching from Santander to BOS

Just have a few quick questions, Ive done a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.
I completed the online application early hours of thursday morning and I am using the bos switching service. How long before I hear from them? Also I was also wondering when I should change over my salary, I have to complete a change of bank details slip and send it away and I am due paid again 30th september.
Also should I contact each direct debit manually and make sure that they have my correct account details? Im just worried that i dont change my salary intime and i get loads of charges or missed payments!
Cheers

Did you get a switching overdraft with the account?
The switching team will change all your direct debits for you and contact the companies involved to notify them of the change.
Salary wise I would keep with Santander for the moment until ou hear from bos as they will normally contact within 3-5 days to get the ball rolling.0 -
If you have online banking, it's always best just to keep an eye on what direct debits are active. Working for a company who takes direct debits, I get countless calls from angry clients who claim we've taken a payment from their previous bank account despite them switching. The company taking the direct debit doesn't have control over the issue - it's the bank who are meant to notify BACS of the switch and then it's changed.0
