insurance work, low budget replacements?

My insurance company have authorised the repairs on my kitchen and bathroom after a large water spill. I had the paperwork through, and I have been given a budget of £10 per square metre for ceramic floor tiles for my bathroom.

Local tile shops are laughing at me, topps and b&q don't have anything suitable either, my current tiles are blue, and I can't find any to replace like for like!

What is the likelyhood of the insurance company raising this budget do you know? I just have to source the tiles, then the work men will go in and buy them.

thank you, they need to be either blue (pref) or white, as bathroom is white and blue with yellow.

i'll have a look at wickes, thanks again

You need to go back to the Insurance coimpany. Their assessor (or Loss adjustor if one was appointed) know the cost of materialos and this seems on the low side. I run a Maintenance Company and do a lot of work for insurance companies. We normally allow £20 - 30 / metre for floor tiles and up to £20 for wall tiles.

Thanks Phill99, when I went in an independant shop they laughed at my budget!
I've emailed the insurance company, and asked them to review the pricing, and i've also had to ask them about kitchen lighting, as they haven't budgeted for that to be replaced (the light blew when the ceiling leaked)
