Natwest Student Account: Advice Please

Hi everyone, hope everybody is well.
I will try to explain my situation and what I would like to achieve.
Three years ago I opened a Natwest student account, later that year I decided that university wasn't for me. However in that year I maxed out my £1250 overdraft. When I left uni I got a full-time job and have remained working for the last two years. My OD has gone down and up and so forth.
I have now wised up slightly and decided this OD has got to go once and for all.
The problem lies in that at no point have I mentioned my lack of studentyness to Natwest, who have been kind enough not to ask any questions. So I would imagine I have enjoyed an interest-free overdraft, when I probably should not have been.
I am almost in a position whereby I am out of the OD permanently, but how to I go about changing my account to a normal personal account or even closing it without drawing suspicion?
I just want this to go away but I don't want to drop myself in the brown stuff with Natwest and be awarded with charges for backdated interest etc.
Maybe I am overthinking this?
Any advice or previous experience in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Just open a bank account elsewhere and start switching all your direct debits, wages etc to your new account. Get you NatWest account to £0 and go into a branch and close it (or ask them to close it in writing). If they ask why, tell them you've decided to move to a different bank.0

If you want to stay with the bank, just tell them you've now left university. They'll be expecting that you graduated this year anyway if you opened it whilst on a three year BSc.0

When I worked for Natwest nobody really questioned why anyone was closing a student account as long as there was no outstanding charges etc on the account. Just tell them you have now left University and want to switch to a regular current account.0

Some really great feedback from the responses guys. Thank you all!

After 3 years you will find it will be automatically switched to a graduate account anyway. (This has just happened to our daughter even though she is still in undergraduate studies).
