Basically im renting a shop from someone for the last 5 years originally i was choosing my own buisness insurance which coverd all damage but 2 years ago my landlord said there was a new law stating i had to go with the landlords choice of insurance now 2 years down the line my shop floor is sinking and my landlord has said claim threw my insurance which i did but the insurance company has said they wont pay out as its been poorly maintencd ( wear and tear ) how am i meant to maintain the concrete under my property and the other thing who would be responsible ? since he chose the insurance company surly he would have to pay for it

As far as I am aware it is usual practice (not law) for the landlord to insure the buildings, the payment would still come from you. Have you actually seen the policy ?
Whatever does your lease say about the various obligations to repair and maintain ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
