Car insurance needed for 3 month

I've had my renewal come through and it's a rediculous price. After looking around I can get it cheap elsewhere. However what my question is is does anywhere insure you for anything less than 12 months.
I going to live in the US from January and I will only be needing an insurance policy up until December. Can I just pay for 3 months or will I have to pay the annual price regardless which is a bit of a bummer!
Many thanks
Dave

i would say the cheapest way would be to take out the cheapest policy and pay monthly.then cancel after 3 months, check out any cancelation charges when compareing quotes0

Most insurances can be cancelled and you get a refund of the unused part, however its not normally a straight % there could be fees .
From direct line:-If you cancel after those 14 days have passed, we will return any premium less a charge for the number of days for which cover has been given and an administration fee of £26.25 (including Insurance Premium Tax where applicable) as shown in your schedule. We will not refund any premium if you have made a claim or if one has been made against you during the period of cover. Please return the certificate of motor insurance.0 -
Most insurers will do short-term cover, although 3 months might be pushing it. Talk to any good broker.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
