Poor Credit Rating because of no Credit History

  • I agree with Chexum, try either Capital One Classic or Vanquis.

    However and important note about your original post....
    We are looking in to getting a mortgage and thought that it would be a good idea to have a look at our credit rating/scores.

    .........as strange as this sounds, just because you refused a Barclaycard does not necessary mean you can't get a mortgage. The reason being is because the Bank/Mortgage broker will use a Real Person "underwriter" who will look in detail at your finances to ensure you can afford the repayments. This means it won't just be a computer auto-system and that someone will take the time to check all your outgoings, wage slips in detail etc. At this stage you will likely get rewarded for not having outstanding debts, missed payments etc even if you have a lack of credit.
