what to plant/sow at this time of year?

I have several mini greenhouses and plenty of pots and would just like to know what fruit/veg I can plant now? It does get very cold here in the winter but I do have plenty of room to bring tubs indoors over cold spells.

Thanks in advance

  • I've managed to get the following in this month;

    60 day rabe broccoli (seed)
    winter onions - Shenshyu (set)
    winter salad onions - white lisbon (winter variety seed)
    kale Reflex F1 (september last outdoor sow seed)
    christmas spuds - carlingford (tubers)

    You can certainly use you pots for the salad onions and probably the larger/deeper tubs for the spuds (I grew mine in bags last winter).
    The rabe broccoli will also probaly be ok in bigger pots.

    Don't forget if you are growing out of the ground, the crops will need watering still and protect them against frost.

    I hope if your mini-greenhouses are the cheap plastic covered kind that you have weighted them down and tied them to something. Otherwise your efforts will go to waste if there is a gust of wind.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
