car insurance - which address?

My house is on the market as I've unofficially moved in with my partner. When my house is sold I will officially move in with him whilst we look for a fresh place together.
My car insurance policy has just come up for renewal. My car is registered to my address but as I spend 99% of the time at my partners, including overnight, should I be using his address for car insurance purposes? My car registration documents and driving license are all registered to my home address.
For reference, my partners house is in a more desirable location and my insurance will be cheaper if registered there.
Thanks for your help.

Insurance companies want to know where the vehicle is kept overnight for the majority of the time. You can have a different postal address to the risk address. In your case I would state the garaging address is at your partners home.I am an Insurance & Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
