One last question

I've now completed my house purchase and am in the process of getting things sorted out in order to move in over the next week or so.

Any time I was in with my solicitor he had a file full of stuff (maps etc.). What happens to all that stuff that was required for the conveyancing? Is there any of it I should ask for a copy of? Do I even have a right to have a copy of the stuff?

  • I would have thought your solicitor would have given you a copy. Mine did.
  • A short time after we completed our purchase we got a letter from our Solicitor asking us to collect documents from their office or they would be placed in storage and a charge made. This contained deeds, land registry details etc so you will probably hear from them soon.
