Send it without a stamp, just address it to the "Payments Department" and they are quite likely to pay RM the postage due in their greed.
Royal Mail need all the post it can get.:)
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Hi all, new to the forum but been lurking and reading the advice on these private car parking 'fines'.

I have been ignoring but am on about my 6th letter now, this one is from another company who have 'bought the debt', not replied yet but coming under pressure from my other half just to pay.

I'm not happy with paying it for a number of reasons but don't want a debt collector turning up on the door step, thought they might have given up by now.
  • Worry not, this is a common scare tactic by the scammers. debt collectors have no powers of entry or siezure and despite the threats, are unlikely to pay you a visit. If they do, you are quite within your rights to tell them to foxtrot oscar. Do not pay this pondlife, you owe them nothing.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

This is true. Though i caught some programme on sky the other day called 'Beat the Bailiffs'

i was very shocked to hear them state that Bailiffs can enter your house even by a window that is open. Shocking programme and they should be ashamed.

Are you sure that they weren't talking about properly appointed court bailiffs? and not ordinary debt collectors. I think (proper) bailiffs can enter property when executing a court warrant.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Debt collectors are just ordinary citizens and have no statutory powers of entry or siezure. PPCs use debt collectors to send letters and sometimes make phone calls but in the vast majority of cases that is as far as it goes. Court appointed bailiffs do have statutory powers.

Confusingly, some debt collectors call themselves "private bailiffs". But that's just a meaningless name.

They have almost given up, your letter-chain was on here all the time, easily found in this thread at the top of the forum. You mean the PCS letter don't you, saying some old rubbish about the non-existent debt being 'purchased' (lets hope you have indeed cost all the companies involved some outlay, as they won't be getting any income from you now you know about the scam):

Have a look and you will see that the PCS letter has been known to be the last gasp for most PPCs which use the same companies. Do let us know if other letters arrive but we think not.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
