  • ahhhhhhhhh!!!! I foolishly tested the "theory" that its good for your metabolism to excercise on an empty stomach in the morning. All I can say is it isn't, its much harder & I have been ravenous all day and bought signapore noodles & curry sauce from the chineese & a pasty at lunch  for the finances & :o:o for being so greedy!

I excercise on the cross trainer on an empty stomach. I do it as soon as i get up and then have a shower and breakfast after. Never thought of whether or not it felt more difficult!

does it make you starving for the rest of the day??? I have a pretty big appetite anyway (and, I think, a good metabolism as I (used to) eat loads of junk, I could do with loosing a wee bit of weight but not really a biggie if I don't, but would be able to fit into the jeans I'm still holding onto "just in case..." :o

Obviously running's quite new to me and when I went on Wed I did the increased prog same as today but in the afternoon/evening & I definately felt it was a lot harder today, my muscles ached earlier... x

Sorry to barge into your thread! But I was thinking of joining this thread daily anyway, so now seems like as a good a time as any...

I think that exercising is down to the individual. If I run in the morning, I am SHATTERED for the rest of the day; I can take a brisk walk, but nothing more energetic than that. At 2pm, I can barely move at the gym (I guess all my energy is focused on digesting food!). But 5pm I have loads of energy, and when I lived in Melbourne I used to run at 11pm (too hot during the day!) and I could run for 40 minutes without any problem.

However, I have friends who are completely the opposite and couldn't go without their morning jog! I think it's down to how your body works, how much you sleep, eating patterns etc.

A good brisk half hour walk each day is a great start if you want to lose some weight, though. :)

I might try and post in here on a daily basis - give me some more motivation to sort things out! Hope no-one minds. :D

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
