Excel Spreadsheet Problem

I've got a spreadsheet for my matched betting although I haven't got a clue how to use it properly!
Anyhow, I entered £15.00 instead of just 15 but it won't let me get rid of the £ sign! Any ideas how I can do this?
Before anyone asks I have tried pushing delete! It don't work!

Sounds like you need to change the format of the cell.
Click on the row, colulm or cell and choose format.
Then choose cells and then choose the correct format for the cell. I suggest Number and have 2 decimal places.
If your cell still shows £15.00 then you may have it set to text so just retype 15 in the cell.
Hope this helps
