advice please- does camden need photographic evidence

i came home a couple of weeks ago to find a notice to owner from camden - they say i failed to display my parking permit, They never put the ticket on my car so this was the first i heard about it. i appealled quoting them - i never stopped them putting it on the car, i would like photographic evidence and proof of my tax disc number and a i have a current permit which is permently on display.
photographic evidence is only secondary and on this occasion the camera was not working, they incorrectly say that in my appeal i said i wasnt there(i didnt say that ) and if i sent them a copy of my tax disk they would compare it to their notes. they have agreed to drop it to £60 if i pay with in 14 days - HELP

Well if they never put a ticket on your car, and the camera they are using is not working, how do they have your details?

While there was no ticket on my car i do vaguely remember 2 traffic wardens not far from my car and i got the impression that one was a newby getting advice from the other, so maybe they started the ticket and finished after i had left???

If you've had the NtO a couple of weeks then:

- you need to start sorting out your formal representations (your formal appeal) asap, and

- you may as well appeal because the price doesn't go up even if you go to the adjudicator and lose. Can't see you losing at all as they cannot prove service of a PCN, and you can prove you have a permit. There may also be other points of appeal in the NtO and Notice of Rejection, and maybe in the lines & signs on the road but you'll need expert advice about that.

They will want to see pics of the paperwork you have received and a pic of the bay/space you parked in (signs and all lines at both ends of the bay if possible).

Don't be put off, do post over there with pics, see the sticky thread near the top of the link 'how to post pictures'. You'd be amazed, not only do most adjudicator appeals end up in the motorists favour anyway, but with pepipoo's help you'll be guided through the process and may well have enough for Scamden to give up before adjudication.

It's all a game of bluff to Councils, esp. Scamden.

Don't just pay - because there's no point when the fine remains the same amount whether you take it as far as the adjudicator or not. No extra costs are involved in a genuine appeal..

Do not send them a copy of your Tax disc.

It up to them to make the case. Do not assist, resist and oppose.
