So I went to maplin yesterday, their cheapest drive was 40 quid!!! So I told them they could keep it, went home and ordered a drive with Lightscribe (had never heard of it, cool idea) off Amazon for £19.50. I had a gift voucher so that was why I went for amazon.
Thanks for all the helpful advice!0 -

Let's hope that you ordered an IDE drive. Perhaps you can post the link to the machine. You may have to put some spaces within the link to be able to post it.0 -

Lightscribe requires special Discs to burn an image onto the top of the Disc. Never used it myself, but other discs will work on the important thing of putting data on it, just wo't beable to put an image on the top using the lightscribe. So take out that pen and write on it, or use the CD sticker system thingy.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

Lightscribe is great, although it does take ages to 'burn' the lightscribe side. Highest Quality takes >20mins, it's like having a 4x drive all over again... :rotfl:0

We have the same computer, when taking the side off there is a release on the back to press. Sorry, can't get to ours right now to check, precisely where but it should save you spending a couple of minutes just trying to pull it off like I did!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

You really should peruse the thread before posting...or at least take note of the posts with the big pictures.0 -
Just had a look, I think the release is the large black right angle thing a little more than half way down on the back. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I think the post was refering to the burning of the Lightscribe image, not the data......Signaller, author, father, carer.0
