Dear Sir/Madam,

I write with regard to a recent breakdown of trust between myself and a travel agent.
I purchased an E-ticket from a travel agent named International flights ltd that were based on Regent Street, London on the 29th of March 2010. I paid exactly £630 pounds for a week to Karachi via Dubai. A week later I called Emirates customer services failing to allocate a window seat for myself online due to the incorrect ticket number. I was then given the correct code by an emirates agent which was IIL73J as opposed to Ticket No.: 47513245694 PNR: 3VN2VV. I was not told at any point that there was a problem with my airline ticket during the discourse. I then tried to check in on Sunday the 1st of August 2010 unsuccessfully. I called the travel Agent at International Flights Ltd but there was no answer, I emailed the travel agent but to no avail. Despondent I called Emirates customer services and spoke to a lovely lady. I was told that the ticket issued was on a Royal Jordanian e-ticket. I was advised that I should commute to the airport and call the travel agent from there so that the issue could be resolved promptly without any delay.
At Gatwick airport I was told by a most lovely gentleman behind the Emirates Help desk that the matter will be resolved and I could call the travel agent from his desk. My flight was for the 2nd of August 2010 at 10am. I sent my friend to the travel agent to accelerate the process on the 2nd of August 2010; she called me at 8:30 am at Gatwick airport and told me the business ceased to trade 6 weeks ago. I was alone at the airport undergoing extreme stress. In addition my parents were out of the country. I had only one debit card with 40 pounds in my account.
I purchased another ticket with the kind help of my friend and when I returned a week later I was told that the company International flights ltd is being investigated by the police. I was told by a police officer that the company had sold thousands of tickets and all the money had been sent out of the country. I will not get my money back but the perpetrators will be prosecuted.
The company was registered with Atol, i called the agents at atol and i receive a response stating they will cal me back but they don't
I don't know what to do. In addition i wrote to emirates who told me it is not their issue. I then called Royal Jordanian and they to told me it is not their ticket.
Any ideas what to do?
