'Specially selected' for Vanquis card

As the title says. Obviously that does not mean i will definately get one. Ive a rubbish credit history. But over the last 5 years every penny ive spent is my own. Should i go for it to rebuild my credit history or stick to my top up mastercard and get one of those £60 loans for the year to improve my credit rating. Like i said, ive spent only my own money, no credit/store cards left so this would be purely for my credit history ( and would be nice to buy concert tickets rather then begging someone else to do so on my behalf!)

  • As long as you can pay it off in full each month then go for it. Don't wait until you really need credit before trying to build your credit history. Do it before it becomes a necessity.

Plus you'll get the various benefits using of using a card, such as section 75 protection.

Absolutely do not get that £60 loan rubbish. Total waste of money when you can do it for free via the subprime card route.

I would recommend the Vanquis card - just make sure you pay it off in full each month - the interest rates are horrific!

Never had any problems with them though :)

Vanquis every time. By the way the £60 isn't really a loan. You are required agree to pay the £4.99 charge for 12 months minimum - which adds up to £60. For some reason they call it a loan...
