Windows Media Problem

When I play a downloaded film or music from an external hard drive on my Windows Media player and fast forward the film or track a bit, I lose all sound. Any one know of a solution to this problem ?

Do you get this problem when you play the same file on the internal disk to the computer?
if you do try updating your sound drivers to your pc...sounds like thats the problem.0 -
do a search on google for this. i have seen the problem mentioned a few times on sites that i have trawled. there will be a patch for this somewhere based on you make and model of your pc/laptopCertified Resident Wanty Stalker #001
