Asprea and now very worried

Hi, this sounds odd but I've never claimed for anything, I have now via Aviva and I've been put onto Asprea. I've read the threads about them and am worried. If they are that bad how come they are still working?
I had a water leak and they sent someone out very quickly to do something. They're sending out a surveyor tomorrow who sounded very nice on the phone and someone to look at part of the job on saturday.
How should I deal with this as I know trusted people to do the work and can get quotes easily but how do I know I'm going to get enough money to do the work and how long will it take?
I'm really 'green' about all this and would appreciate any advice.
Thank you

If you get tangled up with Asprea the first thing to do is pray that you get one of the one per cent of people that they employ who A)know what they're doing and
don't treat you like ****.
If you have to sign a report make sure you read it very carefully as they fabricate them. Ideally you should secretly record every conversation you have with them. Their so called "surveyors" are often pen pushers with a clipboard and a camera who know very little and often just give generic answers based on other similar cases which they keep on their laptops to refer to when they get stuck.
When it comes to actually getting the payment and getting the work done again you're in the lap of the Gods. There's a 50/50 chance that they'll lose the paperwork and have to send another surveryor around six weeks later after you complain that nothing's happened.
It really impossible to describe how awful this bunch of clowns are - you have to experience it.
I hope for your sake you get lucky.0
