Minimum Balance?

Hey,
I have all my savings with either Halifax or Santander and with both I have a Current Account.
At the moment I keep £50 in each as the minimum balance. I don't use these accounts for any DD, just purely for savings, but I'm wondering would it be alright if I keep at balance of just £1 in each?
