Not much but getting there...

WOW have done so well recently.

Each month i put awy £250 towards my £25,000 house deposit in an ISA, and I started last month.

I also put away £150 into a savings account for presents, and clothes shopping.

I recieve a 10% profit share from work each year of £1375, which is going to go on holidays. So each year that is paid for, but any that I don’t spend in a year gets rolled over to the next year.

Xmas presents
I probably spend £400 on Chrismas Presents each year:

I have considerably reduced this using Quidco.

Mum - West End Dinner & Theater Ticket for 2 = £50.36 from me from Fundays
Bottle of Baileys = £13.99 from Last Orders (5% cashback) from my BF.

Dad - 6 Bottle spirit & liqeuer making starter kit from = £42.00 and £5 P&P from me.

Cat – From Pet Planet – Dangly santa £5.99
Box of catnip £1.39 ( £3.99 P&P 5 % Cashback)

Total from Last Orders for my BF
£13.99 + £16.99 + £6.99 = £37.97
with 5% cashback = £1.90
Total spending from Last Orders = £36.07

Total from Fundays from me
£59.00 + £3.95 box set = £62.95
with 20% discount = £12.59
Total spending from Fudays = £50.36

Total from Fundays from me & bf
£59.00 + £3.95 + £54.00 + £3.95 = £120.90

Total spending from Fundays for me = £48.36
Total spending from Fundays for bf = £48.36

Total from Go2Retro
£15.00 + £17.99 + £3.95 = £34.94
With 10% cashback = £3.46
Total spending from Go2Retro by me = £27.01
Total spending from Go2Retro by bf = £7.63

Total from Easybrew
£42 + £5 P&P = £47.00

with 5% cashback = £0.77
Total spending = £14.59

Total Spending from me = £259.36
Total Spending from Bf = £92.06

So as you can see here I am making HUGE savings from what I usually spend.

I have £175.68 today in my savings account and 2 more installments of £150 will be going in there before Christmas, therefore having £475.68 for Christmas. I will have £216.32 in there after pressies.

I currently have been putting any pennies into a piggy bank and have banked up £24.24 from 4 weeks ago to the day. This will pay for my festival ticket next year of £135, which is in June.

I have £350.09 sitting in my ISA at the moment, which will go towards my £25,000. I have got £60 to put in there, profit from selling holiday ciggerettes, and £50 I earnt at work for having a fab week, on top of that I have £10 in pasoes which I need to change in the bank with my commision free money. I am selling a ring from an old bf for £65, and have recieved a bonus at work of £535 this quarter which I am getting in November, I will also be adding and addition £500 going in this ISA before Christmas. The minumum total at new year will be : £1570.09.

Woop had a rise as well, my salary is £13,750, and the company are now contributing £171.88 into a pension for me each month. Which im extatic about, as my total value account is now £15,812.56 then on top of this i get a guarenteed bonus of 10% profit share, and have a commision bonus of a possible £12,000. The performance bonus asside, my TOTAL PACKAGE is worth, £17,187.56, which can be taken into account for staff mortgages BONUS!

Ive set myself £100 to spend on crap next month, anything I dont spend goes into the piggy bank festival ticket fund.

Im finding that this way I am saving more, and not spending my money on useless bits and bobs. I think i will keep my spending at £100 on crap each month, and any time that i get a little extra money it will go towards my £25k deposit, because "every little helps"

im also finding that setting the mse site as the homepage to my laptop helps tromendously. Its a constant reminder.

Only £23,429.91 to go.... will keep you all updated.

  • My biggest saving from this site has not been money ... it has been TIME - I now don't waste time reading adverts and trying to work out if this or that account would be worth opening...I dont ring round several insurers looking for the best deal, I can go to a comparison website ive learnt about on here...I dont search the web for the best prices, I let a price compariosn search engine do it for me
Tim eis worth far more to me than money...so THANKS everyone, esp Martin
