Eon energy monitor reading next doors meter

I just got my Eon energy monitor today and tried to set it up.

It seemed to connect to to the transmitter ok then I got a reading on it before I even connected the transmitter to the meter cable.

I though nothing of this and I connected the transmitter in the meter box which is outside and next to my neighbours box and came back in and started switching things on and off.

There was no change to the display which was reading 240 watts.

Then my neighbour who had been out came home and suddenly the reading jumped by 3000 watts.

He had put his kettle on I think, we are not all that friendly.

So it looks like my monitor has decided to take the reading from my neighbours transmitter, although it does sometime read my meter.

So any suggestions on how I can stop my monitor from picking up my neighbours meter? There doesn't seem to be an option to change channels and his transmitted signal is stronger than mine.

I have had in the past had to change the channel of my wireless router because his wireless router was on the same channel as mine and caused problems.

I suppose I could wait until it is dark then disconnect his transmitter:cool:

Must admit, not come across this one before.

Not sure what to suggest other than having a chat with our support team. Contact details are on the documents we sent with the monitor.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.
