What does "upload aborted" mean?

I spent ages drafting a letter to claim on my mis-sold endowment. When I tried to print it, the printer through out blank sheets of paper (there is ink in it). So I thought I would email it to my son so he could print it out for me. When I tried to send it, I got the message "upload aborted". I've been trying to look on the net for an answer but its all too technical.
I tried re-booting the computer (XP Pro). THe printer is an HP psc 1317.
Any advice please:D

What is your email program (Outlook Express, etc)? Or are you using webmail, e.g. Hotmail in a browser window?

The error sounds like something that would happen with webmail when you browse for a file attachment and it fails to upload the file to the web site for sending with the email.

I use AOL for all my emails.
The computer was working fine until yesterday morning! I have recently installed AVG Free version and that has picked up 6 trojans which are in the Virus Vault. I don't know how to get rid of these at the moment as I can't print out the instructions!

some body mentioned yesterday about problems with aol mail not sure if it was a server problem will try and find out

Thanks for the replies. It must have been an AOL glitch as everything seems to be back to normal now. Just my printer still won't print.
